Post Who is getting the new stuff?
Out of curiosity, how many people know they are going to get 1943 or BC2? Reason I'm asking is because I was just told my vid card will not be able to play BC2. So, if that is the case, I'm wondering if I should go over to 1943, or wait for BF3 to come out.

My vid card is a ATI Radeon 3200 HD in case anyone is curious.

I'm pretty sure that most of us are going to BC2 and BF1943 when it comes out. We are probably going to keep a BF2 server though just because that's all that some people can play.

P.S. BF1943 has the same requirements as BC2

Thing is, according to those stats, I will be able to run it.

Dual Core, 4 GB RAm
256 Dedicated Vid Memory, 1919 Total
Windows 7
More Than Enough HDD Space...

So does anyone see any problems? I dont, but Im no genius when it comes to this...

You'll be fine, just don't turn your graphics up too high or you will see the lag. Should be fine at your max resolution with medium to low settings with that card. What is your CPU speed/type?

I was able to run Far Cry 2 at high settings (one notch under max) and mine played fine. I highly doubt that BF:BC2 or BF1943 graphics are that high.

My specs are:

AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 6000+, ~3.2GHz
4 GIG Mushkin DDR2 PC6400
2x74GB RAPTOR RAID 0
NVIDIA GeForce 9800GTX+ (512mb)
Samsung Syncmaster 19" LCD
Windows XP Professional SP3
Abit Fatal1ty AN9 32x
Gigabyte Aurora Full Tower

I'm pretty sure its 2.1 GHz, which sounds pretty low compared to your 3.2. :) But, medium settings will only make the graphics not as "crisp", correct? It wont slow down the performance. Turning it up higher WILL slow down the performance, right?

Ha ha! I feel smart now!

Medium should look ok and your gameplay should be smooth. If you set too high, especially if you are on a 2.1ghz CPU, then you might want to try medium first and see how it goes. If it's too much just lower your settings a little bit at a time (including switching to a lower resolution).

If you can afford to, I'd see about upgrading CPU first, then your GFX card. Depending on what you have now, you could upgrade to better hardware for about $200-$300 and be on par with my machine.

Problem is my gaming rig is a laptop, so I really cant upgrade anything significant. (That means the vid card.) That means I will have to pre-order BC2 sometime soon... :2guns:

I will be pre ordering BC2 soon. Doubt I'll do anything with 1943, because I need every spare penny for my new GPUs.
